About us
Villa Scvola Elementare began its story in 1934 as an Italian school in the heart of Istria—a place of learning, childhood, and community. After decades of life, the building was left abandoned and nearly forgotten, slowly fading along with the memories of the generations who once filled its classrooms. Everything changed when the current owners discovered it during a journey and saw in it more than a ruin—a chance to preserve a piece of local heritage and give it new life. Guided by a deep respect for authenticity, the restoration was approached with great care. Original elements, such as the stone façade and the inscription above the entrance, were preserved, while the interior was shaped into a subtle dialogue between past and present. Today, Scvola Elementare is more than a villa—it is a space of stories. From former classrooms to carefully curated art and historical details, every corner carries traces of time and a distinct personal vision. This is a house that does not erase its past, but transforms it into an experience—for guests seeking more than a stay: a feeling, a story, and a sense of authenticity.
